Is it painful?

Topical anesthetic is given for pain management and significantly reduces discomfort. Modern techniques and medicines allow the permanent makeup process to be no more painful than getting your eyebrows tweezed. If you have a painful micropigmentation experience elsewhere, you may be working with an inexperienced practitioner.

How long is the healing process?

For eyes, brows, and lips you can have the procedure done in the morning and return to work in the afternoon. There can be a very slight swelling of the eyes and lips, which can last 1-2 days. Your permanent makeup will appear darker and more prominent immediately after the procedure. It is normal to experience some swelling and tenderness but as healing commences, redness reduces and the natural coloring will set into the dermal layer of skin. The surface color lightens with natural exfoliation to leave a permanent natural look. Multiple visits may be in order based on the unique individual’s skin coloring.

Are there side effects or allergies?

Slight swelling may occur for 1-2 days. All pigments are non-toxic iron oxide.

How long does it last?

The average longevity of permanent makeup is 3-7 years. Permanent makeup will slowly fade somewhat requiring periodic touchups, as needed.

The permanence of every procedure is uniquely determined by skin type, sun exposure and lifestyle.
